I literally had no idea about the Australian voting system until about 6 months ago, but luckily I got involved in Y Vote and now I run Y Vote Workshops all over Australia!  I've been working with and around young people for the last 10 years. In this time I've worked as a youth worker, counsellor, group facilitator and in community development and community education. I am in charge of rolling out Y Vote workshops across Australia. I believe I have got the toughest job of all! I mean come on! How boring is voting? In fact, I think around 6 months ago I thought I would be the worst advocate to be out and about motivating young people to engage and enrol in voting. I'll be honest with you, I don't even think I've voted properly, ever in my life. So, you may ask yourselves, what motivates me to roll out these workshops? Well, I may not be passionate about voting but what I am passionate about is, the environment, climate change, equality and woman's rights all over the world, ending poverty, ethical and fair trading, stopping animal cruelty and generally caring for one another. When I started to recognise that I am a passionate person, I rapidly realised how voting is so under rated. We have this awesome opportunity to have young Australians heard and make changes. We are the voice of the future and if politicians think we don't care, therefore don't listen to us; well I say enough of that, let's get voting kids, because many votes can change the world for the better.

Peace out and I hope to meet you on the road!
